I check in from time to time on the development of new games. Darkfall Online ( www.darkfallonline.com ) is one of the games I've been following. For the last few years there has been talk of how the developers are big fans of Ultima Online and that this game would be very appealing to UO players.

They have a new video that is 100% game play. It's long. It's about 20 minutes. It's well worth the watch. There are so many different things they have in the game. The one thing I am most excited about is the ship battles.

When I say UO fans will be very interested in this game I am very serious. There are no character levels. It's a skill based game just like UO. They will have player housing just like UO. They have ships. Just like in UO. I can't tell you how excited I am about this game.

Check out the videos below. The graphics are very detailed. There is more work needed on movements and such. You'll notice it's not AAA graphics. But remember that this is beta and in the development of these games the final graphics are not put into the game until the end of development. If you like what you see they just announced beta signups. So go signup.

wow that game looks sooo tite. I have never played UO but ive watched all ur videos about it and it seemed like it was a great/popular game i would for sure try this game out looks awesome.

Also, how do you get on the beta? I saw it said it was a clan beta so you have to join beta as a clan? if so we should make a markee one

Yea I love the in-game vid. It sais 2008... but that would be a bad time to release it with WotLK coming up. How do you join as a clan?

I don't think releasing this with WOTLK is a bad idea, people need to realize its possible for people to play more then ONE game..




But yeh, it does look robotic sort of like i said in a previous thread.. the game play is def there they just need to get the movement down pat before i'd consider buying it. Hopefully they get it cracking soon

You should sign us up for a Clan Beta (Markee Dragon) forged guild. It looks as if that's the only way of getting in right now and this game looks simply incredible. We could all give it a shot. What have we got to lose?

i saw this game awhile back,

its made with the Unreal Tournament 3 Engine or something like that, but i don't think it can compete with the mmo's out today.

They should make it free first maybe(?)

I think it's going to appeal to a niche market of UO and EQ players. Definitely not a WoW-killer so to speak, but it could be fun to mess around with. The "do anything you want/sandbox" type of MMO these days is kind of outdated due to WoW's very linear and streamlined progression; many people for that reason alone won't know what to do with themselves in the game. However, those of us with previous MMO experience will probably appreciate it far more.

Bring back Commander Keen IMO!

This sounds amazing. While WoW is great, no MMO out today matches the awesomeness of old school UO. (UO before Trammel)

It's awesome they are actually developing another skill based MMO that has real PvP. It will be good to actually get to loot the characters I kill again.

Stop with all the "it will never compete with World of Warcraft". No game will EVER compete with World of Warcraft it's almost 7 years ahead in the market of millions of people. Look at reality.

I love the animations for this game. They are. Epic.

shadowbane and shadowbane has lots of resemblance to Darkfall.
