I knew it had been quiet for a long time. No big ban waves for the last few months that I can recall. Well today the ban hammer fell for thousands of players.

I know for a fact it was broader than botters, it must be directed at something else... Perhaps economy stablization attempts, perhaps pre-wotlk money making attempts, who knows but as MD said it himself, bounce back guys =)

I was buying powerleveling at the time, and got banned. Who knows if they were botting or not though

Blizzard has been doing this for quite some time. It's common knowledge that their active bans update after tuesday's maintenence.

Sucks to all who it happened to.

However, I know the majority of these people were international gold farmers. They are always target #1 for Blizzard.

What happened was that Blizzard had this under the wraps for awhile and since AoC just came out it was a get market scheme to get rid of all the big botter guys and other botters to which in the end resulted as a banwave.

They know that AoC probably wont keep up with the botters which will kill AoC and they'll come back to World of Warcraft again.

Everyone got hit. The survivors were lucky and probably didn't bot during that time.

By the way, ISXWarden was updated and now is protected again.

Sware, that is all speculation. ISXWarden may say they are protected but it takes until at least a week to know that for a fact.

Now it stands that on May 13th, 2.4.2 was released. This had game files that detected 3rd party software which could not be detected by the anti service. So after 1 weeks period of accumulating a ton of botters, the ban hammer was released on all those.

Its like the 9/11 conspiracy, happens on 911... was it planned on that day or just coincidence. So it is unknown if it was an attempt at blizzard to do it on the AoC release date.

Isnt this mainly for BoT, Gold farmer accounts that might of been blacklisted before?
